Terminato (per ora) il ciclo Old Man War, uno dei più importanti autori sf americani tenta l'abbraccio a mamma opera spaziale con il racconto di un impero al collasso...
O meglio, quel bastardone di John Scalzi, che ha già saputo reinventare la fantascienza militare (Forever War vi dice qualcosa?) prova a reinventare il racconto preferito dalla fantascienza. Scalzi tenta di raccontare la diffusione dell'uomo nello spazio cercando di sopperire al limite insuperabile della velocità della luce con un escamotage: il Flusso.
Da quello che ho capito, una sorta di campo extra-dimensionale dove il tempo e lo spazio si toccano e dove puoi essere trasportato ovunque nello spazio. E' questa la base sulla quale si sviluppa un prospero impero stellare che, però, comincia a scricchiolare quando è proprio questo campo di forza a oscillare...
Ma sentiamolo dall'autore stesso:
